Tactical Emergency Casualty Care for Law Enforcement Officers
Survive. Adapt. WIN.
The Tactical Emergency Casualty Care (TECC) for Law Enforcement Officers (TECC-LEO) course is designed to equip law enforcement professionals with life-saving medical skills tailored for high-risk situations. This nationally recognized training ensures officers are prepared to act decisively and effectively in emergencies where seconds count.
What is Tactical Emergency Casualty Care?
Tactical Emergency Casualty Care (TECC) is a nationally recognized framework for providing emergency medical care in high-stress, tactical environments. Adapted from Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC), TECC is specifically designed for domestic law enforcement and first responders, emphasizing rapid decision-making and life-saving interventions during active operations. The TECC-LEO course focuses on equipping officers to deliver immediate care in the field, stabilize injuries, and support safe casualty evacuation, all while maintaining operational security and effectiveness.
What You’ll Learn
Participants will gain practical knowledge and hands-on experience in managing medical emergencies within tactical environments. The course covers essential life-saving skills such as controlling severe bleeding, airway management, treating chest trauma, and managing shock. Officers will learn to apply these interventions during three critical phases of care: care under fire, tactical field care, and tactical evacuation care.
Through realistic scenarios, participants will practice balancing medical care with tactical operations, ensuring safety and efficiency under pressure. The program emphasizes decision-making in high-stress situations, helping officers integrate medical response seamlessly into ongoing operations. Upon completion, participants will receive a four-year TECC-LEO certification, a wallet card for field validation, and eight hours of CAPCE-accredited continuing education credit. These credentials demonstrate the officer’s readiness and commitment to professional development, with national recognition for their expertise in tactical emergency medical care.
